WHY INVEST?

LIMITED SUPPLLY

Many whiskies are produced in limited quantities, which can drive up demand and prices. Whisky distilleries often release limited edition or rare bottlings, which can become highly sought-after by collectors.

INCREASING DEMAND

The popularity of whisky has been growing steadily in recent years, particularly in markets such as Asia, which has led to increased demand and higher prices.

AGEING POTENTIAL

Whisky is one of the few commodities that improves with age. As whisky ages in oak barrels, it gains complexity, flavor, and character. Rare, well-aged whiskies can command high prices at auction.

RESILIENCE TO MARKET FLUCTUATIONS

Whisky is considered a relatively stable investment compared to other commodities, such as stocks or precious metals, as its value is less affected by market fluctuations. In times of economic uncertainty, investors may turn to alternative investments like whisky to diversify their portfolios

However, it's worth noting that investing in whisky carries risks, just like any other investment. Whisky prices can fluctuate, and there's always a chance that an investment may not perform as well as expected.

Additionally, storage and insurance costs can eat into profits. As with any investment, it's important to do your research and consult with financial professionals before making any decisions.

THE PROCESS

THE START OF YOUR JOURNEY

Choose from our range of finishing casks. Your cask will be marked with a Cardiff Distillery cask number, date of distillation and your name to mark the contents of your property

PRODUCING THE WASH

Cardiff Distillery's whisky is created from a 100% malted barley mash that is bespoke produced in Wales to create a rich, flavourful wash.

DISTILLATION PROCESS

The wash is then double-distilled in the heart of Cardiff using a traditional copper hybrid still. Distillate is monitored constantly by the distiller to ensure only the finest section, known as the hearts, are used.

AGEING PROCESS

Oak ageing changes the new-make whisky by performing important functions. Colour and flavour is extracted from the wood, whilst the charred inside of the barrels softens any rough edges

THE WAIT

Your chosen cask will be stored with us for a minimum of 3 years, however we recommend a minimum of 5 years - During this time you are able to visit the distillery annually to taste the product or we can send out a sample.
